The Point Venture Lions Club is partnering with Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge to beautify the front entrance garden at our headquarters. We want to make a welcoming and safe place for the public to read our to-be-installed new interpretive panels when the front gate is closed. So often the public pulls up on the weekend and sees the closed gates and believes the rest of the refuge is closed too.
For the overall project we are adding a 3 panel kiosk, semicircle driveway, pollinator garden, and short trail (for selfies with the refuge sign).
We could use a few volunteers to help on the following work days:
Saturday, March 16 from 8:00 am – Noon to help with weeding and constructing the small trail
Friday, April 19 from 8:00 am – Noon to help install the new plants
Where: Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters 24518 FM 1431 Marble Falls, TX 78654 (just 5 miles west of Lago Vista).
Bring: Gardening tools, work gloves, water, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes
Sing Up: Email Jennifer_Brown@fws.gov or call her at 512-339-9432 ext. 70
Thank you!!!
Best,
