Every year Berry Springs joins forces with United Way of Williamson County and participates in United Ways “Day of Caring”. This year we will be weeding and mulching our irrigated pecan trees and adding mulch to our playground area. We will assign you to one of the two areas. If we have enough people we may also plant a few small pecan trees in the campground area.
There are inherent risks involved with working in Mother Nature’s home so if you are allergic to insects, plants, or have difficulty working in the Texas Heat please do not sign up.
When you are assigned an area we will ask you to bring your own tools if you have them, ie. weeding tool, rake, shovel . We do have some tools on site but not enough to provide for all.
Bring work gloves, water bottle, wear sunscreen, insect repellent and dress for the weather. Where we will meet will also be dependent on what the work project(s) area is. We will notify you of where to meet in the park when you sign up in an email.
If you want to bring a snack to share with the group that would be very much appreciated. There is no rain date for this event. If it is canceled you will be notified. Upon signing up you will receive a email with further information. If you have questions contact Susan Blackledge susieblackledge@gmail.com or call 512-930-0040.
