Dear Balcones Volunteers,
I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. We are hopeful that regular volunteer opportunities will be offered again next spring. Stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, if you would like to help with this year’s Christmas Bird Count read all about it from the program hosts below:
Brad James and Lori Malloy will be taking over the coordinator duties this year and we both look forward to a fun and safe count while heeding the refuge’s request that we follow Travis County’s Covid-19 guidelines. Social distancing and/or masking will be required at all times in the field, and carpooling may occur with existing familiar or social ‘pod’ groups. We will not have a compilation gathering this year. Instead, results will be collected at a nearby drop-off location.
This year’s count will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020. Please email [email protected] if you are able to volunteer.
If you participated last year and would like to be assigned to a different area than you covered last year, please let Brad and Lori know ASAP by emailing [email protected].
