Event Summary:
Learn about archaeology in Central Texas and how you can get involved.
Event Description:
Central Texas offers a wide variety of opportunities for archaeological exploration. But have you ever wondered what archaeologists actually do when out at a site? Once it’s been determined that a site had been occupied, what next? How is the archaeological evidence recovered, collected and recorded? In a word, what are archaeological field operations? Françoise Wilson will answer these questions, and more, including how you can get involved. Françoise is an Avocational Archaeologist with the Hill Country Archaeological Association (HCAA), a Terrestrial Archaeology Steward with the Texas Historical Commission (THC), and a Hill Country Master Naturalist. She also sits on the Board of HCAA, and on the Education Committee of the Texas Archeological Society (TAS).
