Event Summary:
The Texas Parks and Wildlife agency is responsible for the management and conservation of the state’s wildlife and fish resources. Hear Craig Hensley talk about iNaturalist.
Event Description:
That word “conservation” includes helping us understand how to explore the wilds of this state. Craig Hensley, with a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Management, an M.S. in Zoology and a passion for the photography of everything in the natural world, is well qualified to light our way. His long career as an environmental educator includes nearly 12 years with the agency exploring Texas. He presently has 4,419 observations (and growing) of 1,322 species listed on iNaturalist.
“I am a life-long naturalist. [I grew] up in Iowa and worked everywhere from Minnesota and Nebraska to my current role as a Texas Nature Trackers Biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.”
Bring your curiosity and a smart phone. Craig is going to teach us how to use iNaturalist to explore and identify the world around us.
