Event Summary:
During this presentation you will learn about the iNaturalist app, how to apply it to your property and take it outside to hone your skills. You’ll also learn how to participate in the City Nature Challenge from April 29 to May1st.
Event Description:
The Friends of Fredericksburg invite you to the April Workshop at Lady Bird Johnson Park Tatsch House in Fredericksburg. It will be a fun morning of learning.
The iNaturalist app provides users the opportunity not only to learn more about the nature around them, but to also contribute more understanding of the float and fauna on an area, whether in Texas, your back yard or the nature center in Fredericksburg.
Craig Hensley is a life-long naturalist and educator, having shared his passion for and love of the natural world with audiences from Minnesota and Nebraska to across Texas. He has served as a Texas Nature Trackers Biologist for more than 3 years after a one year stint as Wildlife Biologist for Comal and Kendall counties and more than 8 years as the Park Interpreter at Guadalupe River State Park. He is the father of son, Dr. Noah Hensley, Senior Technical Advisor for the National Water Regulator Taumata Arowai in New Zealand and daughter, Dr. Jennifer Hensley, a pediatrician in the Boston area. He is grandfather to 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson, and is married to Hill Country Master Naturalist, Terry Lashley.
Be sure to register as attendance will be limited to 30.
