Event Description:
June Night Matters – Chloe Crumley from Audubon Texas will discuss Lights Out! programs and the impact that intrusive lighting at night has on birds, especially during migration. In addition, she will talk about what Audubon Texas is doing to increase participation in Lights Out! Texas. International Dark Sky’s Dark Sky Places program promotes night sky conservation across the globe and is a powerful outreach tool for communicating to the public the importance of reducing light pollution.
Chloe Crumley is the Audubon Texas Engagement Manager. She leads the ongoing development and implementation of statewide capacity building and partnership development with the Audubon chapter network on Audubon’s advocacy priorities, conservation programs, and community science efforts. She also oversees Audubon Texas’s Lights Out Texas and Bird City Texas campaigns with the goal to help urban spaces become bird friendly! A native Texan, Chloe hails from San Antonio, and enjoys all outdoor activities and holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy. New to birding, Chloe is in constant awe by the uniqueness and benefits birds bring to our communities and hopes to educate and inspire everyone to take action to protect our feathered friends!
