During this talk we will take a dive into the role of predators in the ecosystem and the benefits they provide.
Event Description:
As children we were taught about a very simple food web with plants at the bottom and at the top of the pyramid were predators. Historically, plants were considered to be the regulating factor of all living things. However, the food web may work a little different than we originally thought. Instead of plants, predators may in fact be the ones regulating the food web. During this talk we will take a dive into the role of predators in the ecosystem and the benefits they provide.
Liz Tidwell is a Wildlife Program Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, she received her B.S. from the University of Wyoming and M.S. from Sul Ross State University, where she studied Montezuma quail in New Mexico. As a Program Specialist, she helps landowners and County Extension Agents answer questions and create programs to educate on a variety of wildlife topics. During free time, Liz enjoys spending time with her family, hunting, and honing her taxidermy skills.
