Victorian hats, salmon flies, museum specimens and a feather thief. This presentation will explore the historical, environmental and legal significance of feathers.
Bob Howells is a retired fishery biologist and aquatic ecologist. He previously worked on the staff of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and did environmental research with Ichthyhological Associates, Inc., an environmental consulting firm. Bob came to Kerrville in the early 1980s to do aquatic research at Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Heart of the Hills Fishery Science Center. Primary areas of interest have included exotic fishes, shellfishes, and aquatic plants and freshwater mussels (major barometers of environmental quality).
