Event Description:
Historically bats have had a bad reputation. They are the subjects of a lot of myths that Coco Brennan will bust and then she will talk about the many benefits bats provide humans, threats to bats, and what we can do to help bats. Coco will talk about bats in general and also Mexican freetail bats specifically as they are the most common in our
area and the denizens of the Bracken Cave. October is Bat Appreciation Month, so join Bat Conservation International as they celebrate Bat Week all month! Visit BatWeek.org for lots of great activities from Bat Conservation International (BCI) and other batsaving organizations around the world.
Coco Brennan is a Texas Master Naturalist and a volunteer educator for BCI. She has been working with BCI for the last 15 years. Coco gives presentations all over Central and South Texas at schools, fairs, and private groups like SAAS so that people understand more about bats and their importance to our ecosystem.
