Event Description: The Texas Hill Country is home to about 350 different species of birds. All rely on plants for food, shelter, and nesting. We will discuss the many advantages of native plants in your landscape, how they help to feed and attract our amazing birds, and which ones to consider to get the most bang for your buck!

Mark and Teri McClelland have been watching birds and encouraging native plantings for almost 40 years. They currently live in the nearby town of Medina Texas where they are restoring their 5-acre property by planting native grasses, forbs, shrubs and trees. As native plants have taken hold over the past four years, they’ve witnessed a surge in the number of birds and other animals utilizing their property.

This program is presented by NPSOT Kerrville. We have library programs throughout the summer on the second Saturday of the month, 10:30-11:30 am. During the rest of the year, we alternate with the Master Gardeners. Our library programs are February, April, June-August and October.

Cost: Free

Register @: No Registration Necessary. The presentation will be held in the lower level of the Butt=Holdsworth Memorial Library.
