Event Summary: Learn what various efforts are being made to protect the Hill Country’s Water Resources in this panel discussion. This training is part of the New Class 2024 curriculum, but is presented as AT for Certified TMN.

Event Description:

Join Moderator Tara Bushnoe (Upper Guadalupe River Authority)D and panelists Deb Youngblood (Pedernales River Alliance & TMN Water Specialist), Margo Denka (Friends of Hondo Canyon) and Annalisa Peace (Great Edwards Aquifer Alliance) for a discussion of the water resources and the protection and management efforts in the Texas Hill Country. Topics to be discussed include:
*ground water supply (how is its decrease measured and what the numbers tell us)
*water quality threats due to land use changes (wastewater discharge and runoff from rain)

*Solutions focused on

*watershed protection strategies (macro system planning, who is in charge of what water and points of interception)
*regional efforts to impact decision-making to protect our waters
