Event Summary: Bennett Trust Land Stewardship Women’s Conference “Ranching Women” Day 1 of 3
Event Description:
Those with a passion for environmental stewardship and a love for the Texas Hill Country won’t want to miss this conference!
“Ranch Her: Building a Sustainable Future” is the theme with environmental stewardship being the focus of the Bennett Trust Land Stewardship Women’s Conference, to target the greater number of women making the decisions as landowners and operators.
The award-winning program, now being held for the sixth year, aims to provide women the tools they need to manage their piece of Texas, with more than 350 women attending to date.
“More and more women are becoming landowners through inheritance and other means, and we want to help them be a success in the management of their natural resources,” said Larry Redmon, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension program leader and associate head, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Bryan-College Station. “By offering a ladies’ conference, we hope women will feel more comfortable with attending and participating. We also want to encourage mothers to bring their daughters – it is a generational thing.”
