Event Summary:
Using a variety of contemporary photographs, the Presenters will lead discussion on common causes of sparse undergrowth and/or lack of plant diversity throughout the Hill Country that led to an imbalance in watersheds, soil erosion, and reduction of shelter for animals.
Event Description:
Interested parties are invited to submit photographs of Texas Hill Country areas with sparse undergrowth and/or lack of plant diversity. These will be used in discussions to restore these problem areas. Photo submissions a limited to a maximum of five, must include a general or specific location where photo was taken and the name of submitter. Submissions must emailed no later than October 28th to boerne-chapter@NPSOT.org, Attention: Pamela Bransford.
About the presenters: Rufus is one of the founders of the Texas Master Naturalist Program and is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and educator. Jan is an environmental educator and writer. They are co-authors of the new edition of “Land Stewardship for Birds: A Guide for Central Texas”. In addition, Jan is author of “Trees, Shrubs, and Vines of the Texas Hill Country”.
