Event Summary: Landowner, Gary Krause, shares his success story in restoring 1640 acres on the Frio River.
Event Description:
Gary Krause will share his adventure in restoring the 1640 acre Krause Ranch at the headwaters of the Frio’s West Fork. Conservation easements and land management practices all played a role in this restoration success story. Pre-orders for the book “A Resurrection of Springs .Krause Ranch and the Frio River Hill Country” will be taken or can be made at TX A&M University Press.
Passionate about land, water and wildlife preservation, ranch owner Gary Krause helped initiate the Volunteer Testing Program of the TNRCC (Texas National Resource Conservation Commission) and has served as one of the certified water testers for the state. Conservation and education are primary goals for Gary and Gwen Krause.
As a child accompanying his USDA Field Agent father as he worked hill country ranches, six-year-old Gary announced, “I’m going to own my own ranch so I can go whenever I want.” By 1983 the owner of Intercontinental Training, an international management training and consulting company, began purchasing the properties that today comprise Krause Ranch.
