Event Description:
If you enjoy nature and sharing it with children, we hope that you will join us in taking requested presentations to Boerne ISD Elementary classes.
This presentation will teach the necessary skills to volunteers that are needed to lead or assist with nature-based elementary grade activities in Boerne classrooms as part of the Cibolo Nature Center Outreach Nature Box Program.
8:30am Sign in and refreshments. From 9:00 am to 12:30pm there will be interactive presentations concerning elementary topics such as Bird Nests, Plants and Pollination, Fast Change in Earth’s Surface, and Reasons for Seasons. All materials are provided. No expertise is required. All curriculum is aligned with new TEKS. If you enjoy nature and sharing it with children, we hope that you will join us in taking requested presentations to Boerne ISD Elementary classes.
Admission is free, but RSVP is required.
Kathy Ward and Kathy Wilson are codirectors of the program. Kathy Ward has taught science and nature on all levels from Kindergarten to the University. She has a bachelor’s degree in geology, master’s degree in biology, and a Ph.D. in Science Education. She is active in HC Master Naturalists, ABKSNA, and Boerne NPSOT.
Kathy Wilson has degrees in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She taught in Elementary Schools. Both Kathy’s have been active as volunteer directors in the Cibolo Center for Conservation Out Reach Nature Box Program since 2006 except during Covid times.
