Event Description: SAAS invites you to explore Crescent Bend Nature Park’s serene beauty, rich history, and resilience. Once a residential neighborhood, Crescent Bend underwent a remarkable transformation after devastating floods in 1997 and 1998. Once designated a flood zone and deemed unsuitable for housing, this land was reborn as a thriving nature park. Crescent Bend’s 170 acres feature a variety of habitats teeming with life. Cibolo Creek winds along the park’s eastern and northern edges, creating aquatic and riparian zones that support a wealth of flora and fauna. The park’s woodlands, dominated by pecan and hackberry trees, span over half of the acreage and gradually transition into open savannas in the northern and western sections.
