VT: Albert & Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area Water Testing-Bandera County

October 28 @ 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

We will conduct water quality tests on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29.  If there is still inadequate water at the four downstream sites by the 29th, we will shift over to surveying the Rudist Reef and Doobie Garden reaches.  The goal is to select sites for four floodplain plots, a pair for each reach.  Criteria for the pair are that one represents a high degree of coverage, diversity, reproduction and stability; the other, low.  In other words, the soil/plant community of one plot is contributing to the functional condition of the stream while the other does less.

Depending on Volunteer interest and availability, and the location of construction activity (which could alter our choices on the 28th and 29th)  we can add Saturday, November 2, if necessary.

We will be wearing safety vests, at least in transit.
