VT: Winterfisch Rainbow Trout Program Evaluation-Mason County

December 15 @ 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

We are going to be evaluating the success of our Rainbow trout program across the state. We are going to be doing angler interviews and counting anglers over an 18 period once the fish are stocked. Our schedule is below, I was hoping that there were locals would be willing to help. Whomever volunteers wouldn’t need to be there for the full duration, just at some point within that time frame. If anyone is interested, you can pass along my cell phone to them, and I can walk them through it.

The WinterFisch location is at the Highway 2389 Crossing of the Llano River in Mason County, 8 miles south of Mason (30°38’59.8″N 99°15’00.4″W).

We can arrange for the volunteer to observe from a high bluff at the Dos Rios RV Park if that is preferred.  Or the volunteer can observe and interact from the gravel bar at the crossing. This crossing is officially known as the James River Crossing although it crosses over the Llano River. I would just write James Crossing to avoid confusion.
