Event Description:
Central Texas is home to some of the longest continuously occupied archaeological sites in North America, with artifacts dating back to over 15,000 years ago, about 2,000 years older than the previously accepted dates for the peopling of North America. This program will provide an overview of the archaeological process, focus on significant sites in the Central Texas region, their relation to local geographical features, and the current struggle of decolonizing archaeology.
