February 19, 2015, Day One
The arrival of large earth moving equipment marks the beginning of the make-over at Lost Pines Nature Trails and the Colorado River Refuge. Vehicles from Precincts 1, 3, and 4 were on the scene.
Work done thus far:
Brush has been removed along Riverside Drive in preparation for replacing the old and broken bollard and cable fencing. Brush and Chinaberry trees – an invasive species – have been removed along the road across from the LPNT parking lot, also in preparation for bollard and cable replacement.
Entrance road and parking lot grating has been done at the old boat launch by the largest of the three earth movers.
Watch for update blogs as the work progresses.
