Advanced Training- Tour of the Gault Archaeological Site

January 30, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Chapter member Carla Blakey has arranged a tour of the Gault Site with Dr. Clark Wernecke.   The tour is open to all chapter members, but you have to RSVP in order to participate so we can get an accurate group count for Dr. Wernecke.

The tour covers cultural, environmental and geological aspects of the site from the modern age back to 15,000 years ago.  Dr. Wernecke will demonstrate primitive technologies and you will be able to see the ongoing research excavation at the site.’

The tour will take roughly 3 hours and will involve approximately 1 1/2 miles of moderate walking.  Good walking shoes are a must.  Also suggested are a camera, hat, sunscreen and water for the walk.

The Gault Site has a nice picnic area under a pecan tree if you wish to bring a lunch.
