BCPD Dunes Day – 2026

Dunes Day involves placing recycled Christmas trees on the beach to support the natural habitat and coastal barrier. The trees work especially well as their needles collect blowing sand, which then accumulates to form new dunes. Brazoria County Parks Department is asking for volunteers to help with this effort.
Volunteers are to report to Stahlman Park, 2211 Bluewater Highway on Surfside Beach, at 9 a.m. Jan. 24 to start staking the trees along the beach.
