Christmas Bird Count (CBC) – Freeport (TXFR)

The count is consistently one of the top ten in the country and finds the largest number of species of any on the Upper Texas Coast. Habitat includes seashore, barrier islands, prairie & woodland. The circle is divided into eight areas, each with its own leader & unique habitats. (Count Circle Map) For information & assignments, contact compiler Mike Austin (mj_eh@comcast.net). The count is traditionally held on the first Sunday of the count period.
