“Rock Sweep” at Quintana Jetty

The monthly Beach Sweep effort championed by Jimmy and Luanne Salinas has been in place now for quite some time and they are ready to take it to the next level – the Quintana jetty.
Message from Jimmy:
We are planning a “Rock Sweep” on Wednesday, October 18 at 8:00 am to 10: am. Now this will be a challenging effort because the rocks can be difficult to maneuver. We are asking that those who want to come out and attack this challenge please be cognizant of your safety and wear appropriate gear, which can include;
- Good non-slip shoes
- gloves
- trash grabbers
- proper clothing for sun/wind/rain
- knee pads
- And anything else you might use to protect yourself.
We plan on having some tools to remove stubborn fishing line and embedded trash.
If you’re interested in doing this “Rock Sweep” with us please let us know. If we get a good turnout we will have some wagons to haul the stuff back to the jetties parking area.
