Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary invite you to join us for a Bug-A-Thon Mothing Bioblitz Saturday, June 21st!

06/06/2025 by mconnally

A Mothing BioBlitz uses UV lights to attract and record nocturnal insects.  It’s a “species snapshot” for that location and date, utilizing the iNaturalist app. We encourage attendees to record observations in this free app.

When: Saturday, June 21, 2025,  8:00 – 11:00pm

Location:  Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place, McKinney, TX 75069

Dress:  Routine dress code for activity in the field: Long pants, boots/close-toed shoes; long-sleeved shirts are recommended, and any attire appropriate for the weather. Master Naturalists should wear their name badges.

Bring:  Drinking water, insect repellent, and a flashlight to help you find the way back to your parked vehicle.
