Rick Travis, Class of 2018
Participants at the recent Arbor Hills Nature Adventure Walk in Plano got a “handy” lesson in safety. Lisa Travis demonstrated a clever way to identify poison ivy using hand shapes to match the unique “thumbs” on its leaflets.

During the walk, Lisa showed everyone how to use a clever hand trick to spot poison ivy before getting too close. 🖐️ She pointed out that the bottom two leaflets each have a single “thumb” sticking out, while the center top leaflet has a thumb on both sides! 🌿
