As the namesake of the Town of Flower Mound, The Flower Mound is one of the few remaining unplowed pieces of the great American prairie lands. Prairies are now our most endangered ecosystem and one of the most misunderstood. On Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m., at the Flower Mound Public Library, learn about the grasslands that once made up a good portion of our area, why conservation of prairies is as important as planting trees, and what makes The Flower Mound prairie so special. This presentation is designed for adults and will be led by Vice Chairman of The Flower Mound Foundation Diane Wetherbee.
