Winedale Historic Center Nature/History Walk

April 25 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

>>Record in VMS (with travel time) as: Educational Group Presentations: Gideon Master Naturalists<<

Trained Winedale Historical Complex volunteers lead a nature/history walk monthly on the last Saturday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. This walk integrates the human and natural history of the site.

The Winedale tour is in partnership with the Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin, which operates the center. Learn both human and natural history as you walk with certified Texas Master Naturalists in the footsteps of Texas pioneers and indigenous people who forged history in the unique wilderness that was early Texas.

Training is provided to new volunteers. Each volunteer receives written materials covering key points. In addition, volunteers can gain experience by gradually assuming responsibility for sections of the nature walk. We will gather at the visitors center and expect the walk will take 60-90 minutes, depending on how slow we walk and how fast we talk.
