Event Summary:
How to draw and document plants for citizen science.
Event Description:
We will draw/document something that we find in the garden today. Drawing hacks will be addressed such as tracing, diagramming, and other ways that we can make drawing accessible to all. Teaching will be tailored to the individual for the purpose of journaling to learn about nature and its use in citizen science.
Drawing skills are not necessary—this is not an art class! Our goal is not to be botanical illustrators, but observers of nature. We are drawing to facilitate learning about plants and the environment but please realize that if you prefer writing or a combination, it is just as valid. Please bring a journal and a pencil/eraser. You can also bring other supplies such as watercolor or a magnifying glass. A camera or phone for photos is also helpful.
