4/19/2023 – White-nose Syndrome (WNS) is a devastating disease in hibernating bats that was first discovered in upstate New York in 2006. Over the past couple decades, the disease has spread throughout the US and Canada, driving mass mortality events in bat populations. The pathogen causing WNS is now spreading in the West, but impacts of the disease are still looming large. What will be the fate of Texas bats? Come join us as we examine the progression of WNS in Texas – what do we know, what do we not know, and what are we still waiting to find out.
