Daniel will speak about the 12th Annual Laredo Birding Festival.
Event Description:
With a rich and diverse river ecosystem, Laredo is home to hundreds of species of local and migratory birds. Laredo is considered part of the “birdiest” corridor in North America. There will be a variety of full-day scenic trips, as well as carefully selected green spaces and private ranchland to provide visitors the chance to visit sites that have never been birded before. Daniel Perales was born in Cotulla, Texas and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971—1974. He graduated from Laredo State University (now Texas A&M International University) with a degree in Political Science. He was employed by the U.S. Border Patrol and retired in 2007 after ~30 years with them. Daniel has lived in Laredo since 1975. He has been a birder since 2010 and is the current President of Monte Mucho Audubon Society (MMAS) starting his first term in 2015. Daniel is also Co-Chairman of the Laredo Birding Festival.
