Join us for this special lecture on the Blue-black Grassquit. Dr. Macedo guides us through her work and explores how this unique Neotropical bird furthers our understanding of bird biology.
Dr. Regina Macedo has spent 25 years studying South America’s Blue-black Grassquit including the bird’s distinctive leaping courtship dance. Dr. Macedo is Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at Brazil’s University of Brasilia.
While the Blue-black Grassquit does not migrate here, it is found in Central America from Mexico, southwards through Brazil to northern Chile and Argentina.
