Event Date: 11/15/2023
Event Time: 6:00p-7:30p
Event Summary:
All you care to know about oak wilt.
Event Description:
Many would say the purchase of land in the beautiful Texas Hill Country comes an obligation to understand oak wilt and that management depends on correct diagnosis and an understanding of how the fungus and different oak species interact. Robert’s responsibilities include statewide implementation of the oak wilt suppression program, oak wilt research, training aborists for oak wilt qualification and additionally, implementation of woodland stewardship and conservation programs in our region. In other words, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone with his amount of knowledge offering you free information right here in your neighborhood. Come meet Robert and find out how he can help you understand tree management on your property. Meet your Blanco county neighbors who also want to understand more about this fungus and how together, we can save the oaks.
Robert Edmonson, Biologist with Texas A&M Forest Service is an expert in tree management. Please join us for this educational presentation on Texas Oak Wilt.
