Event Description: Join us in the field for a hands-on workshop opportunity for Hill Country landowners and managers. During this field day, we will explore several structures (and practice building a couple) that landowners and managers can use to help mitigate erosion, enable resilience against drought and flooding, enhance groundwater infiltration, and establish
vegetation on their properties.
9:00 AM Overview of the day, Welcome to Edwards Aquifer Authority – Field Research Park with Thomas Marsalia, and Introduction to Hillside Stewardship concepts with Dr. Mollie Walton
9:30 AM Hands-on Stations: Split into groups and rotate through four 30-minute sessions, including tours of pre-existing structures on-site, and two demonstration stations in which you will learn about various hillside structures, their purpose, and practice building them
11:45 AM Reconvene and reflect on erosion-control structures, Q&A and Discussion, Wrap Up
