Event Summary: Join this Global Precipitation Measurement seminar to learn the differences between weather and climate.

Event Description: We are focusing on the differences between weather and climate and have a wonderful set of top-notch speakers ready to present. Dr. Marshall Shepherd is a meteorology professor at University of Georgia, and he is a world-renowned public speaker on the impact of climate on extreme weather events. Learn more about him here. Then my colleague Andrea Portier will describe what “climate models” are and how they are created and their uses in both research and real-world applications. After her, we will hear from Kasha Patel, a former GPM science communicator who now writes for the Washington Post’s “The Capital Weather Gang” and she is also a phenomenal stand-up comedian! We will finish up with Genevieve deMessiers, the NASA Earth to Sky coordinator. I am always delighted to see so many Texas Master Naturalists joining us for these webinars!
