iNaturalist City Challenge Mothing Event at Frisco’s Grand Park: Moths, Moths, and More Moths!
On April 29, our chapter partnered with the Frisco Parks Department to hold a Mothing Event at Grand Park, in support of the iNaturalist City Challenge. It was a real treat and a wonderful experience for all those that attended, which included not only several members of our chapter, but also TMN’s from surrounding chapters, and several families from the Frisco area!
For a while, we weren’t sure we were going to have a mothing event, as there was the threat of rain and high winds all during the day. However, the rain held off, the wind died down at sundown, and after a rousing introduction from special guest Sam Kieschnick we cranked up the mothing lights, and it didn’t take long for the denizens of the night to appear!
Several chapter members brought their family and friends to the mothing event, which always makes these events special. You can’t beat seeing the joy in a child’s face when they make a big discovery on a mothing screen.
