Alan Wilde – Awarded 2017 Everyday Hero for Galveston Community

Alan Wilde, Class of 2001, has been recognized by the Galveston Daily News as one of their 2017 Everyday Heroes for his volunteer efforts.  Alan was recognized for his untiring efforts of monitoring the American Oystercatcher water bird and for nesting habitat restoration in Galveston County.  He is the leader of the Nesting Island Clean-Up by Kayak/Boat (NICK) team of chapter volunteers.  This group has been actively partnering with other non-profits to restore nesting habitat for water birds in our region.
