The chapter’s post on blue button jellyfish found on Galveston beaches hit an incredible public outreach milestone. The images intrigued many locally and across the US as individuals commented how beautiful and scary. Media outlets were quick to pick up and share the content. The Texas Master Naturalist State office reached out to share that we were getting some great news coverage. Variety of outlets like Southern Living, Telemundo, AOL, Yahoo News and local outlets from Houston Chronicle, ABC13 and KHOU stations were posting and giving credit to our chapter.
The experience is a great reminder to take pictures and share with others. Huge kudos to Maureen Nolan-Wilde for her efforts with our social media!
