Congrats to chapter member Eowyn Johnson, Class of 2022, who was named one of Clear Creek Independent School District’s campus volunteers of the year. Over the past year, Eowyn started an after school birding club. She had 11 students join the club (mix of 4th & 5th graders). Just some of the things the members learned were how to use Merlin (app) and field guides to identify birds, problems birds faced in general, birding using their senses and so much more. They also created their own suet and attended birding field trips. The year ended with each member receiving their first birder patch as a Thunderbirder.
