AT – Early People of Texas

April 26, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Chuck_Snyder-DSCF2167-Edit-2
T.J. Fox and Mike Wehrman will once again share their extensive
knowledge on the early people of Texas and their life ways.
T.J. will take us on a journey of 11,000 years and we will travel
over 1100 miles learning about the early people who inhabited
Texas. We will learn where they lived and what happened to
them. His story will continue telling of 2 groups who were our
early neighbors when the first Europeans came to our Gulf Coast
area. Mike will invite us into his tepee which will be set up outside.
We will learn about hide preparation, tepee accessories,
archaeology, tepee painting, and tribal differences. He will give
us a miniature demo of tepee setup so we can understand how
complex and practical this style of shelter was to the early people.
If some of you attended the last AT on this subject, our presenters
have added new exciting information.
We have room for 30 people for this AT. Please contact
Emmeline Dodd to reserve your place at [email protected]
