AT: Focused Training on Transect Work for Fall & Winter 2018 Season

In partnership with Audubon TERN, we are hosting an advanced focused  training session on Tuesday – September 18 for the transect work project.  This training is planning to cover the following:
- Overview of the transect  project
- Who & how this data will be used
- Process to be used for data collection in 2018 – 2019
- Sharing of most common plant data from 2017-2018 work
- Safety & Clothing Considerations
- Field work – walkthrough of the process – we will be leaving Carbide and going to a location that will be announced
The work for 2018-2019 season will be done on selected nesting islands in our Galveston area.
In order to reach these small nesting islands, you will need to go either by boat or kayak. Audubon Tern will be providing the boat transportation (limited seating) and the rest will kayak out of Tiki Island and other locations.
This training is only intended for volunteers who are planning to participate. . Please advise by return e-mail, if you are interested in joining us.
