Public / Personal Safety 101 AT – Saturday, March 28th
9:00 – 3:00 PM
Carbide Park
Limit: 30 participants
6 hours AT credit
We are excited to bring back Public/Personal Safety 101 Advanced Training to be led by a Boy Scout group certified by the Red Cross. This AT will follow a component system approach for teaching CPR and First Aid which offers a better balance of basic level of training. It was first offered in March 2013 and is being held on a two-year cycle to accommodate new students plus allow our folks who took the course then to be re-certified.
The morning session covers Responding to Emergencies (First Aid) and Adult CPR components. Some of the topics covered in the First Aid section include; heat exhaustion, choking, bee stings and other common maladies. CPR will be taught following American Red Cross Community Training and include videos showing realistic scenarios and focus on accident prevention. The afternoon session focuses on When Help is Delayed focusing on additional procedures when professional help is not readily available (great for those of us who work out in the field on projects). Lunch and morning goodies will be provided.
Please sign up for the course through Emmeline Dodd
txdodd@aol.com .
There will be a fee of $25, which will be collected at our February chapter meeting; those not attending the meeting may bring their payment to the class. We encourage all who volunteer with the public and also volunteers who work out in the field to attend this training. Any questions about the content, please contact Maureen Nolan-Wilde (
