Since joining the Galveston Bay Area Chapter in 2015, Sandy Parker has contributed an extraordinary 5,000 hours of volunteer service—and her impact can be seen throughout our community.
Sandy has provided leadership for the Attwater’s prairie-chicken breeding project at NASA in partnership with the Houston Zoo, Bayside Regional Park’s native garden, and community monofilament recycling efforts. She also volunteers with FeatherFest, participates in bird monitoring, and is an active member of the Native Plant Society of Texas–Clear Lake Chapter.
As a member of the Green Team, Sandy helped launch the plastic film recycling project and carefully tracked the pounds collected through the TREX program. These efforts have helped bring recycled-material benches to the community.
From wildlife conservation and native plants to recycling and community partnerships, Sandy truly is everywhere! We are grateful for her remarkable leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication to protecting our natural resources.
