South Llano River State Park
South Llano River is 2,600-acre park with about 2 miles of river frontage. There are four bird blinds on property. The Golden-cheeked Warbler and Black-capped Vireo nest at the park as well as numerous other species. There are about 24 miles of hike and bike trails .

Volunteer Opportunities
March, April, and May:
- Birding Volunteers to guide walks and to sit and chat with guests in the bird blinds.
- Need to be willing to become very familiar with park birds.
- Assist with School Groups by forming a cohesive school program. Lead programs and hikes with students of multiple age groups.

Summer:
- If we are unable to recruit campground hosts, for the bird blinds.
- Trash pickup and river monitoring
- Develop new and exciting programs
Fall:
- Trail Maintenance to include weed-eating, trimming, ,trash pickup, and trail repair
- Develop new and exciting programs
- Volunteers with Dark Skies skills and knowledge to lead astronomy nights
All new volunteers need to meet with Park Interpreter Lorissa and get an orientation before starting.
