Missed Class or Field Trip Information

TEXAS MASTER NATURALIST INITIAL CERTIFICATION

Requires completion of the following by August 31, 2025:

  1. Attendance at all required training classes,
  2. Eight hours of approved Advanced Training (AT), and
  3. Forty hours of approved volunteer service time.

You have committed to attend all training classes. However, sometimes unplanned interruptions occur.

NOTE: if you use an Advanced Training to make up a missed class, it does not count toward the required eight hours of annual Advanced Training. No double counting!

REMEMBER!!! You have until August 31, 2025 to complete the training curriculum ‘make-up equivalents’ to meet this Initial Certification criteria.

Here is how others have completed the training:

  1. Attend another Master Naturalist chapter equivalent class or field trip. Reservation and pre-approval by that chapter are required. List of area Texas Master Naturalist chapters are listed in this document.
  2. Complete an Advanced Training (AT) session on a pre-approved topic.
