At our September Chapter Meeting this year we would like to get our MITs off to a great start, as well as to remind current members of the primary reason for our being, by focusing on the many volunteer service opportunities there are in the Texas Hill Country. Our own David Drake will facilitate an exploration of the many ways you can enjoy the Texas Hill Country while doing something helpful for you and your neighbors in terms of volunteer service!
Join us in-person at the Hunke Gathering Hall at the Herff Farm @ which is part of the Cibolo Center for Conservation at 33 Herff Rd, Boerne, TX 78006., or online via Zoom, on Monday, September 22, 2025. Social time starts at 6:00pm, the Chapter meeting is at 6:30pm, and at 7:00pm.
The Advanced Training topic for the Sep 22, Chapter Meeting is…
All About Volunteer Service Projects!
This year, perhaps more than most, we have become acutely aware of the need for trained individuals to recognize what has to be done in the way of volunteer service and to do what first responders cannot, which is to ‘stay the course’ and help where help is needed in this place we call home, and to return week after week, month after month, and year after year to ensure our efforts pay off. Each month during our Chapter Meetings we open a 10-minute window into one of the many places where we volunteer, but to properly prepare for the year ahead it is time we review our many commitments and perhaps to discover opportunities we never knew existed!

Speaker: This month we will have a number of speakers, all Project Directors, who will show you around the many natural areas of the Texas Hill Country, some in the city, some deliberately removed from human influence, all of which could use your special knowledge and skills. David Drake, Director of Volunteer Service Projects for the Texas Master Naturalist Hill Country Chapter, will facilitate this event.
