The Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (MLMP) is a citizen science project involving volunteers from across North America to collect long-term data on larva monarch populations and milkweed habitat. There are multiple monitoring sites in the Hill Country Chapter area. Data collected from those sites help researchers and conservation managers protect monarchs and their habitat.

By monitoring, you will be collecting data that will lead to a better understanding of monarchs and more effective conservation efforts, become familiar with the complex community of organisms that call milkweed home, and watch the changes in your site from the beginning of the season to the end, and from one season to the next.

We monitor at:
Albert and Bessie Kronkosky (ABK) State Natural Area (Pipe Creek)
Cibolo Center for Conservation (Boerne)
Guadalupe River State Park (Spring Branch)
Kerr Wildlife Management Area (Hunt)
Kerrville-Schreiner Park (Kerrville)
Roberts Ranch (near Comfort)
South Llano State Park (Junction)
