Check out some Spring Flower Photos - below “Plant of the Month”!
The Lindheimer Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas had their Annual Plant Sale on April 21st and 22nd. Thanks to everyone who helped with plants, and especially those Master Naturalists who volunteered their time to help the Lindheimer NPS provide a little native flower power after what I am sure was a long Earthday Saturday!!! The Society did quite well this year and actively spread the word about the nasty aliens that have been invading Comal County!! Thanks to Jean Phillips of the Society for her handouts on the Giant Mustard (Bastard Cabbage) infestation. There are several photos from the plant sale on the members page!
Ten months each year Master Naturalist John Siemssen provides us with a copy of a ”PLANT OF THE MONTH” that he has researched as to its usefulness in the Hill Country Garden. He does this for the Lindheimer Chapter of the Native Plant Society, and we like it too!!
This is a wonderful way to get to know the plants of our area, as well as to provide ideas for plantings in the native and nearly native landscape, which we should all be endorsing, especially in this time of drought! Our Board approved our addition of this “plant of the month”, and we applaud the Native Plant Society for using this as a tool to help members save water and provide native and adapteds to help the wildlife of the area. Thanks to you too John, for all the research and time it takes to do this!

Most of these are from Edie’s yard or neighborhood right now, but we’d like to have more photos. If you have a photo or two of a plant or landscape that you especially like (preferably from this year, but not necessary- please give us a date and approximate place)
