Dick Benoit Prairie Preserve Workday:
Wednesday, April 3, 2024 @ 8:30 am – 11:00 am
Please join us at the Dick Benoit Prairie (named for our chapter’s FOUNDER) in League City for a morning of invasive plant removal, plant identification and volunteer service. The prairie is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of SH 96 and Marbella Parkway, just west of SH 146. Parking is on Marbella Parkway, please DO NOT park on SH 96.
Dress appropriately for the weather and conditions (hats, long sleeves/pants, gloves, boots/closed toe shoes are recommended). If we have had recent rain the prairie may be wet, so waterproof boots might be beneficial. Bring a reusable water bottle; water will be available for refilling your bottle. Don’t forget bug spray and sunscreen! A limited number of tools will be on hand, but if you have garden loppers, hand-pump sprayers, pruning saws, gloves, safety goggles, etc. please bring them.
